Theresa, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Monday afternoon in Jefferson County, state police said.
Brett A. Vansant, 55, was riding north on county Route 22 in the town of Theresa at 3:19 pm when he failed to negotiate a left turn in the road. The motorcycle went off the east shoulder of the road and down an embankment in the area of 31519 county Route 22, troopers said.
Vansant, who lived in Macomb in St. Lawrence County, was thrown from the motorcycle during the crash, state police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police are continuing to investigate the crash.
