Man shot in leg outside Syracuse convenience store, police say

SYRACUSE, NY — A man was shot in the leg outside a convenience store on Syracuse’s Southwest Side on Friday night, police said.

Police responded to a reported shooting outside a convenience store at 303 South Ave around 10:12 p.m., according to a Syracuse Police Department press release.

Two 911 callers reported seeing an injured person, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center.

Police officers who arrived at the scene reportedly found blood outside the store.

Shortly after police arrived at the scene, they received a report of a 38-year-old man walking into Crouse with a gunshot wound to the leg, they said.

The man was shot at least once in the leg, police said. His condition is stable and he is expected to survive.
