Man shot in groin, leg in Syracuse’s Brighton neighborhood, police say

Syracuse, NY — A man with gunshot wounds to his groin and leg was driven in a private vehicle Friday night to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, police said.

Officers were called to the hospital at about 7:04 pm to investigate the shooting, Syracuse Police spokesperson Lt. Matthew Malinowski said Friday.

Police later learned the man was shot in the 200 block of Kenmore Avenue, Malinowski said. Multiple casings were found in the area, he said.

The man, whose identity was not immediately released by the police, is expected to survive, Malinowski said.

Syracuse police ask anyone with information on the shooting to call them at 315-442-5222.
