12 new non-stop routes in Fort Lauderdale

Frontier Airlines is returning to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with 12 new nonstop flights in the heart of the country with Spirit Airlines early next year.

The Denver-based low-cost airline, which offers bargain prices but charges additional fees for everything else, said Tuesday it plans to resume service to and from the South Florida vacation destination in February. Frontier has served Fort Lauderdale in the past, most recently in 2019.

The airline is planning a non-stop service to and from:

►Atlanta: One-way fares start at $ 29

►Buffalo, New York: One-way fares start at $ 49

►Islip, New York: One-way fares start at $ 39

►Orlando: One-way fares start at $ 19

►Philadelphia: One-way fares start at $ 39

► Provision: One-way fares start at $ 59

►Stewart, New York: One-way fares for $ 59

►Trenton, New Jersey: One-way fares start at $ 49

►Albany, New York: One-way fares start at $ 49

►Rochester, New York: One-way fares start at $ 49

►Green Bay, Wisconsin: One-way fares start at $ 49

►Portland, Maine: One-way fares start at $ 49

Frontier also plans to begin service from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, with flights to and from Orlando in March, and will increase service from the east coast to Cancun and San Juan in February.

The airline often experiments with new routes, including giving up when the travel demand isn’t there, including the cost.

This year it suspended flights at Los Angeles International Airport and San Jose International Airport, and announced plans to suspend flights in Dulles and Newark in 2022.
