Ascend Long Island and National Grid have entered into a three-year partnership aimed at increasing the chances for minority owned businesses to win contracts with the utility’s house weather program.
“We are committed to expanding the active participation of various suppliers in our construction and weathering projects,” said Melanie Littlejohn, vice president of National Grid’s community and customer engagement department, in a statement. “This partnership supports our commitment to Project C for the communities and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the clean energy transition.”
Ascend Long Island supports economic development in the region and is a partnership of the National Center for Suburban Studies at Hofstra University, the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Scott Skodnek Business Development Center and BOC Capital.
