Samuel Rossi Obituary (1936 – 2022) – Albany, NY

Rossi, Samuel ALBANY Samuel “Sammy” Rossi, 86, was called by God on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, passing away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Albany on July 13, 1936, the son of the late Angelo and Roberta Polombi Rossi. Sammy was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. Sam was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Company and later National Grid for 59 years in North Albany in the engineering department and last as a right of way agent. He had the most time in National Grid during his tenure. He was the secretary for Local 1397 and a long standing member of IACC. He was very active with the Life for the Nations Church serving God as a deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a long standing member of the Italian Community Center in Albany. Sam loved his grandkids and was cherished by everyone who met him. The family would like to thank their dear friend Barb Borden for helping us every day. He was the beloved husband of 65 years of Carla M. Smith Rossi; loving father of Peter (Vivian) Rossi of Naples, Fla. and Michael “Mick” (Nicole) Rossi of Latham; proud grandfather of Gregory (Katherine), Daniel, Curtis, Ryann (William Moore) and Lauren; great-grandfather of Watson, Ashlyn and Cillian; and dear brother of Angelo (Carol) Rossi, Rosemary Seeburger, Ruth Knapp and the late Dora Tedford, Steven and David Rossi. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Life for the Nations Church, 477 Krumkill Road, Albany on Friday, August 5, from 10 am – 12 pm followed by the funeral service at 12 pm with Pastor Randy Anson officiating. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Albany. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Life for the Nations Church, 477 Krumkill Road, Albany, NY, 12203.
