Buffalo Prep Launches New Program To Help Children Achieve Their Academic Goals

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – A local nonprofit is creating an academy to further prepare underrepresented youth for higher education.

Buffalo Prep’s newest program, Prep Scholars Academy, brings middle school students back to the classroom this summer so they feel better prepared for college education.

Those with Buffalo Prep say this type of program is more important now than ever after keeping students out of the classroom due to COVID-19.

“We have seen the decline from non-personal teaching and I think that it is especially important in the minority community that there is personal contact with the students and is able to see these children and help them. Said Luis Rodriguez, president of the Buffalo Prep Board.

This new program is partnered with The Belle Center and offers bilingual classes to reach more students.
