What Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen called Stefon Diggs TD Route vs. Saints

Stefon Diggs is known in the NFL as one of the best router runners in the game today.

In Thursday’s 31-6 Thanksgiving Day win against the New Orleans Saints, he took the time to remind all viewers why he was wearing the award.

He showed his elite talent and footwork when he handicapped Saints CB Marshon Lattimore, who tried to cover him only to turn away and catch a perfect dart from QB Josh Allen for a touchdown.

When asked after the game if there was a name for the route play the two had performed in the win, the QB giggled and gave an on-the-fly response, describing how they sometimes generate attacks.

“Diggs are basically opening up,” Allen said during his press conference.

“He’s a track technician, I think everyone knows that. I don’t know what to do when you’re out there with him because he’s very smart with the way he sets you up, the quickness and speed of his cuts is pretty amazing so I saw him open and i just tried to get him asap before he got too far out.

Diggs made a home with the Buffalo Bills after starting his career as a Minnesota Viking. The WR had a career year in 2020, and watched memorably as its teams’ Super Bowl aspirations waited another year after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship game.

He’s been producing at a high level for Buffalo again for the year. His ability to route flawless routes, score breakups, or open up was a valuable weapon in the team’s offensive arsenal. Not to mention a great help in Allen’s development.
