UNLV OL signs Noah McKinney to Syracuse Official: “This trip has a big impact on me”

Syracuse hosted an official visit from the UNLV offensive line Noah McKinney over the weekend. McKinney stars in Coronado High, Nevada.

“We did a lot,” said McKinney. “The first day I got there it was a Thursday, so I just went to sleep that night. The next day we went out and did the little photo shoot that we do. We went to Texas De Brazil which is a really good steakhouse. Loved that part. Then went to an arcade and then just hung out with the players at night. ”

The 6-5, 290 pounder was related to a class of 2021 offensive line signers.

“My host was (Enrique) Cruz,” said McKinney. “I like Cruz. It’s fun to be with Cruz. He definitely showed me all the guys. He showed me what they really do, showed me what the whole team stands for.”

McKinney also enjoyed spending time with the Syracuse coaching staff.

“I have a feeling if I came here I would probably do a red shirt my freshman,” McKinney said. “I think I could see myself once I get stronger and get used to the game in college I could be a big part of the team and what they’re trying to build here. I love what Coach Babers was about . I’m a big family and I felt that here. That it’s a family. I was with the assistant named Kendall (Coleman) and I really enjoyed him. He showed me what soccer in Syracuse is about and what it’s like to play for school with pride and tradition. ”

Another highlight of the trip was a closer look at the facilities of Syracuse and the campus as a whole.

“You were really nice,” said McKinney. “Campus is a little different from what I’m used to. A little hilly and kind of cold out here, but the campus is really nice. The facilities were lovely too loved the dome. Funny story when I first came here and was with Kendall. We drove past it and I said, ‘Is this home?’ He said, ‘Did you just call it home?’ I called it my home and not dome. I really liked the dome. It was really nice and different from what I expected. The lights upstairs were cool too. ”

Gathering information about the academic part of Syracuse was also an important aspect of the trip.

“Sports management, I feel like I would be really good at it,” McKinney said. “The classroom and the school section we went to were really nice. Faulk College. The whole area. Everything Syracuse has to offer academically is really nice and very engaging.”

After the visit, Syracuse gave McKinney a lot to think about.

“It was all last minute,” said McKinney. “I never expected to get a call from a school like Syracuse. It definitely influences my decision a lot. There is no doubt about it. I will definitely have to wait until after my UNLV visit to see where I sign on the 15th. I was very impressed by this trip. ”

McKinney will officially visit UNLV on the weekend of December 10th, just days before National Signing Day. He’s not sure if he will announce his final decision before the day of signing or if he will wait until that day.
