SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – With less than two months to go with baseball season, the Syracuse Mets are giving the Central New Yorkers a sneak peek at their promotional schedule for the upcoming season.
This year’s season will feature loads of fun, from giveaways to fireworks, theme nights and more.

The 2023 season kicks off with the 2023 opener on Tuesday, April 4 when the Syracuse Mets take on the Rochester Red Wings at 2:05 p.m. with a popular Trapper Hat giveaway for the first 1,000 fans. The following game on Saturday April 8th includes a Magnet Schedule giveaway.

Fireworks Shows
This year there will also be at least 26 post-game fireworks shows, with three fireworks nights during Memorial Day Weekend on the following dates:
- Friday May 26th
- Saturday May 27th
- Sunday May 28th
The Mets will host four consecutive nights of fireworks from Friday, June 30 through Monday, July
3, in the run-up to Independence Day.

Boiled Potatoes from Syracuse
- Duel of the Dishes is back for season six, hosted by the Syracuse Salt Potatoes
Rochester Plates on Friday July 14 in battle for the eight foot Golden Fork.
- Salt Potatoes Power Move Weekend will also occur in 2023 when the Syracuse Mets become the Syracuse Salt Potatoes from Thursday, August 24 through Sunday, August 27 when they host the Buffalo Bisons.

The theme nights this year include:
- Star Wars Night on Saturday September 9th
- Polish Night on Wednesday September 20th
- Irish Night on Thursday 21st September
- Italian night on Saturday September 23rd
Embrace culture and community in Syracuse
- Congueros de Syracuse
- For the second straight season, the Mets will become the Congueros de Syracuse for three games as part of the “Copa de la Diversión,” a series of events specifically designed to promote the culture and values inherent in local Hispanic and Latino communities communities resonate most. Congueros de Syracuse pays homage to the popularity of the conga drum, an instrument played in many Latin American countries.
- The three “Copa de Diversión” nights include:
- Thursday May 5th for Cinco de Mayo
- Thursday, July 20th
- Thursday, September 7th

- In addition to working with the local Hispanic community, the Syracuse Mets will also host their second annual Juneteenth celebration on Thursday, June 8th.

Additional promotions will be announced on social media and at the annual Syracuse Met Open
House on Saturday March 4th. All promotions and dates are also subject to change.
Advance ticket sales in March
Tickets for single matches go on sale at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 4th at the Open House.
Tickets are available both online and in person at the Onondaga Coach Ticket Office at NBT Bank Stadium.
