The NY Sportsman’s Expo returns to the convention center this weekend

The annual New York Sportsman’s Expo is back in town this weekend at the Exposition Center at the NYS Fairgrounds.

The event starts at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and lasts until 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can buy tickets online or at the box office.

Tickets are $12 for adults (ages 13 to 64). Seniors, military, firefighters, police and children (6-12 years) pay $10, ID required. Discounted tickets cannot be purchased online and must be purchased at the box office. Children under 6 years are free.

Check out the latest hunting gear, chat with your local sports club officials or book an African safari. Kids will love fishing for trout in the Stick Pond ($3 for 5 minutes) or watching dogs jump into a pool at the Dock Dog Contest. You can even enter your pooch in the competition.

Or perhaps attend a free workshop on axe handling, turkey calling or fishing for walleye. The complete seminar program is online.

Here are 10 cool things we found at last year’s show.
