Syracuse police are seeking help from the public after a woman was stabbed multiple times on the north side of the city

Syracuse, NY – Syracuse police say a woman was stabbed multiple times in the neck on Sunday night on the north side of town.

Someone called Onondaga County 911 at 5:14 p.m. to say a woman near Park and Mary streets had been stabbed five to six times in the neck, dispatchers said.

Syracuse police and fire brigade, as well as an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance, were at the scene. Officials said they had the woman who was stabbed near 1012 Park St.

The stab wounds were three to four inches deep in the neck, said Syracuse police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Malinowski said. The woman also had a bruise on her head, he said.

AMR tried to help the woman but she turned down treatment, Malinowski said. The officials also said they had limited information about what happened, he said.

No arrests were made and the Syracuse police are continuing their investigation. The police have asked anyone with information about the stabbing to call them at (315) 442-5222.
