Suffolk County, NY is holding an early vote starting this week

The early voting in Suffolk County is due to begin on Saturday, October 23rd, ahead of the November 2nd general election.

Voters can still receive a personal postal vote until November 1st, the day before the general election. The Suffolk County Electoral Board will remain open for postal votes until 7:00 p.m. on October 19 and 21. The ballot papers must be stamped by election day and received by the election committee by November 9th. The officials urge voters to send their ballots early to avoid delays.

The personal pre-vote lasts until Sunday, October 31st. There are 12 early polling sites across the county.

Early voting sites are:

Babylon Town Hall extension, Brookhaven Town Hall, Dix Hills Fire Department, Huntington Public Library, Islip Town Hall extension, Knights of Columbus, Mastix Recreation Community Center. Nesconset Elementary School, Riverhead Senior Center, Southold Senior Center, Stony Brook University Southampton Campus and Windmill Village.

The early voting schedule is:

Saturday, October 23: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Sunday, October 24th: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Monday, October 25th: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Tuesday, October 26th: noon. – 8 p.m.

Wednesday, October 27th: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Thursday, October 28th: ​​8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Friday October 29th: noon. – 8 p.m.

Saturday, October 30th: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Sunday, October 31: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

On election day, the polling stations are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and voters must report to their assigned polling station.

Suffolk County District Attorney is Democrat Tim Sini and Republican Ray Tierney. Sini was a federal attorney who now serves as the Suffolk County Police Commissioner. Tierney has been a prosecutor for over 30 years.

The Nassau County District Attorney is Democrat Todd Kiminsky and Republican Anne Donnelly. Kaminsky is a former federal prosecutor who has never lost a case. Donnelly has been a prosecutor for 32 years.
