Suffolk County District Attorney: New graduate and off duty soldier charged with motor vehicle murder

BOSTON, Oct. 29, 2021 – An off duty Massachusetts State Police soldier was charged today in a fatal accident allegedly caused by Suffolk prosecutors as a result of negligent and drunk driving, District Attorney Rachael Rollins said.

KRISTOPHER CARR, 25, of Monson was charged today in the Dorchester Division of Boston City Court on drunk driving and negligent service in connection with the accident that killed 51-year-old Christopher Zike. Judge Thomas Kaplanes placed $ 5,000 on bail and ordered Mr. Carr to refrain from driving while the case is pending and remain alcohol-free, subject to random urine tests. Assistant District Attorney Amanda Cascione, the supervising attorney for the Dorchester District Attorney, had requested $ 7,500 bail to ensure Mr. Carr returned to court, as well as the terms that he stopped driving, stayed alcohol-free and A SCRAM device is condemned to be consumed.
