SU & ESF Lecturer and Staff Bowling League: Bowlers wanted

Campus & Community

Do you enjoy bowling? Would you like to try bowling? Would you like a fun activity with your co-workers?

The SU & ESF Faculty and Staff Bowling League is looking for new members. This is a fun handicap league that accepts male and female bowlers currently employed or employed by Syracuse University SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Your level of knowledge does not matter; Beginners to the average bowler are encouraged to participate. Beginners are coached by more experienced and experienced bowlers.

The League Bowls at Village Lanes, 201 E. Manlius St., East Syracuse, Tuesdays from 4:55 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The league game runs from September to April. Each week, bowling practice begins 10 minutes before the league game. The weekly fees are around $ 15. It is currently an unsanctioned league.

This league has a long history of bowling in the area, from drumlins in the 1960s to Village Lanes today, with members always recruited from the university and college community.

This year we are looking for new members who want to join a team or become league replacements. There is also an opening for a full team. The only criteria is that the bowler works for college or university, is an alumnus, or is a spouse. Each team consists of four bowlers with one or two substitutes. There is an incentive for league substitutes: the weekly fees are paid by the team.

If you are interested or have further questions, please contact Paul Szemkow, league secretary, at 315.960.2066 or [email protected], or Don Place, league president, at 315.685.8655 or [email protected].

The league game starts on September 7th, but there is a training session on August 31st.

Captains include Don Place, Ray Leach, Aaron Knight, Jason LaTray, Dana Cooke, Eric Greenfield, and Randy Money.
