Reward offered for information on the death of the Ox woman | Local news

A reward is offered in connection with the death of a buffalo woman whose body was found in Chautauqua County.

Crime Stoppers WNY is offering a reward of up to $ 7,500 depending on the arrest or charge of the person or persons responsible for Marquita Mull’s death. The body of the 50-year-old woman was found in thick bushes on Woleben Road in the city of Portland on September 27.

A day earlier, a piece of a human skull was found by a hiker who led to the discovery of human remains in a shallow grave about six inches deep. When investigators did a raster search for other evidence, they found Mull’s body about 10 meters from where the first person was buried.

The first remains have yet to be identified.

Chautauqua County Sheriff James Quattrone said at a news conference in Mayville that local authorities are working with the Buffalo Police Department who are investigating Mull’s disappearance.

In an October interview, Wendy Mull described her sister as a good person who would help anyone.

“Even though she had her problems, she was a great person,” said Wendy Mull. “I loved her with all my heart. She was just so cute and when she died my heart died. “

Mull struggled with mental health problems for several years. Wendy Mull said her sister suffered from depression and anxiety, a problem that was made worse when Mull was hit by a vehicle in a hit and run accident in Niagara Falls.

“My sister didn’t bother anyone,” said Wendy Mull. “We stuck together. I also go through my own problems and we talked. The last time we walked her in the (Walden Galleria) Mall, we hugged for 20 minutes. She was very scared, she was through a lot, and when she got hit by that car it started a lot of things. She always had problems and that only made her opinion worse. “
