SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – As crime seems to be on the rise in Syracuse, let’s take a look at some of the most common crimes popping up this week.

$2,700 stolen from Syracuse Indoor Sports Center

The New York State Police BCI in North Syracuse puts NewsChannel 9 viewers on the hunt for the following suspect involved in burglary and theft in Liverpool.

On October 25, the suspect stole approximately $2,700 in cash from the Syracuse Indoor Sports Center, located at 4989 Hopkins Road in Liverpool.

The suspect entered through the front window after breaking it with a hammer and then ran west on Hopkins Rd after stealing the money.

If anyone recognizes the person in the photo, they are asked to contact state police at (315)-366-6000.

Head out and enter the Camillus Vape Shop

Camillus Police are searching for a suspect who broke into Camillus Vapes on West Genesee Street.

At around 00:24 on November 11, the suspect (above) is seen breaking into Camillus Vapes.

Although you can’t see his face, you can read his shirt. It says, “Please be nice to me, it’s the law.”

If anyone has any information or can identify the individual in the images, please call our detectives directly at 315-487-6425 and ask for Detective Gucciardi.

Camillus Vapes is located at 3512 West Genesee Street.

Also: Westhill welcomes new Resource Officers

Westhill School District welcomes new school resource officers made up of all retired police officers.

The SRO initiative was spearheaded by Westhill Schools Superintendent Stephen Dunham, who has partnered with Geddes Police to promote school and community safety.

NewsChannel 9 heard the students have been high fives with the officers all week!
