Middle Island man robs Centereach Bank: police

CENTEREACH, NY – A Middle Island man robbed the M&T Bank in Centereach on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, Ralph William Dominguez went to the branch on Middle Country Road and handed a note to a bank employee demanding cash.

The teller handed over some cash and Dominguez ran away around 3:20 p.m., police said.

About 25 minutes later, a man matching Dominguez’s description was found by 6th Precinct patrol officers in the 7-Eleven parking lot in Centereach, police said.

He was taken into custody and charged with third-degree robbery, a felony, police said.

Dominguez, 65, was held overnight in the 6th Circuit in Selden on Wednesday awaiting arraignment in the First Circuit Court in Central Islip.
