John F Mattice – The Gloversville Leader Herald

Wells – John F. Mattice, 77, of Wells, New York, died peacefully on December 29, 2022 surrounded by his family in the hospice care unit at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
He was born in Gloversville on February 8, 1945 to the late John and Betty Mattice. He is a lifelong resident of the area and attended Wells High School. John served in the Army after high school and spent most of his career working for General Electric in both Schenectady and Niskayuna. His favorite titles were Dad (pop), Uncle Johnny, Papa & Grandpa.
He loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing. He was often found filling his birdhouses or sharing his leftovers with the raccoons and other critters that might drop by his back porch. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His family includes his children Ronald (Catherine) Mattice of Menands, NY, John (Lisa) Mattice, Frank Mattice, Michael (Jennifer) Mattice, all of Wells, June (Nicholas) Robinson of Hope, and Nancy (Steve) Koval of Stillwater . Also among the survivors are a sister, Jackie Adams, a brother, David Mattice, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
John is preceded by his beloved wife Linda and son James Mattice.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Northville Funeral Service, Inc., 401 Bridge Street, Northville NY 12134 on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
