Driveway I-81 towards Salina Street in downtown Syracuse closed Monday for construction

Syracuse, NY – Attention Morning Commuters: I-81 going south to Salina Street downtown will close on Monday morning, an official with the New York State Department of Transportation said.

The Salina Street driveway at Exit 19 will be closed at 9:00 a.m. to allow the city’s paving work, said DOT spokesman Curtis Jetter. It is expected to reopen at 3 p.m.

The far right lane of the driveway toward Clinton Street will remain open and all traffic for Salina Street will be diverted through Clinton, Jetter said.

Almost every major street in downtown Syracuse – including Salina – has been built in the past few months as the city plans to spend nearly $ 14 million in available federal funds on road works.
