Canisius alum Conacher is inducted into Atlantic Hockey Hall

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — Canisius hockey graduate Cory Conacher has been inducted into the Atlantic Hockey Hall of Honor, the league announced Tuesday.

Conacher was with the Golden Griffins from 2007 to 2011 and recorded 62 goals and 85 assists for a total of 147 points, ranked 10th in total points in Atlantic Hockey history and seventh in Canisius history. He was named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year in his 2009-10 junior season and was named an all-conference player twice in his career.

He was not drafted into the NHL, but has played in 193 career NHL games with the Sabers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators, and New York Islanders, scoring 28 goals and 47 assists for a total of 75 points. He most recently played at Tampa Bay in the NHL in the 2019-20 season.

“It is of course an incredible honor for me to be recognised. Of course, I couldn’t have done it without my teammates, coaches and advisors who helped me along the way,” said Conacher. “My time at Canisius had a huge impact on who I am today and I’ve been fortunate enough to make some amazing lifelong memories and friendships during my four years there.”

Most recently, he played two games for the AHL’s Belleville Senators earlier this season.
