A new state COVID-19 testing site will open in Buffalo on Tuesday

(WIVB) – A new state COVID-19 test site will open in the city of Buffalo on Tuesday.

The location at the Northwest Buffalo Community Center, 155 Lawn Ave., is open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

It is one of six new state testing facilities across the state that Governor Kathy Hochul has announced to tackle the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.

Finger Lakes will also get a new state proving ground on Tuesday at the YMCA Carlson MetroCenter, 444 E Main Street in Rochester. The website is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The sites will offer rapid antigen testing. Test results will be emailed or SMS sent after the appointment, and walk-in appointments will also be offered.

New Yorkers can make appointments here.
