SYRACUSE, NY — A person was stabbed to death during a fight between two volunteers at a nonprofit organization on Syracuse’s East Side on Tuesday, said Todd Goehle, director of community engagement for PEACE Inc..
At approximately 12:12 p.m., police responded to a reported stabbing at PEACE Inc. at 202 S. Beech St., according to reports from the Onondaga County 911 Center.
A 911 caller informed dispatchers that the victim was stabbed inside the building and was bleeding, according to dispatchers.
The victim was a PEACE Inc. volunteer who was stabbed during a fight with another volunteer, Lt. Matthew Malinowski, a spokesman for the Syracuse Police Department. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
At least three police cars and a crime scene truck responded to the call.
