15-year-old boy shot 3 times on Syracuse’s Near West Side, police say

Syracuse, NY — A 15-year-old boy was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse Thursday after he was shot three times in the lower body, police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 6:41 pm at the James Geddes Housing Development, 14 Schoeneck Court, Syracuse police spokesperson Sgt. Thomas Blake said Thursday night in a news release.

The teen suffered non-life threatening injuries, Blake said.

Initial Onondaga County 911 dispatch reports indicated there was blood near an apartment in the 400 block of Tully Street near where shots were first reported.

Several police officers were seen in the area talking with people and knocking on doors. Yellow police tape blocked off sections of the development’s courtyard.

The Syracuse Police Department asks anyone with information to call them at 315-442-5222.
