Winless Detroit seemed like a good chance of victory today as it hosted the fighting Eagles, but the Lions are 17-0 down in the second quarter. Houston (1-6) is level with the Los Angeles Rams.
Eagle wide receiver Jalen Reagor sustained an ankle injury after helping his team score a touchdown in the first quarter in Detroit. He had a brief reception that was counted as a touchdown on the field and knocked over by review. At the start of the drive, he had 11 and 10 yard runs in end-around games.
Buffalo’s Tyler Bass scored a 57-yard field goal to open the goal against Miami, the fourth longest in team history and the third longest at the Bills’ home ground.
Bass, a 2020 round sixth draft pick from Georgia Southern, hit a 58-yarder in Arizona last season. The team record is 59 yards, which Steve Christie set on September 26, 1993 at home against Miami.
The 60-yard field goal by Arizona’s Chandler Catanzaro on September 25, 2016 is the longest field goal made at what is now Highmark Stadium.
