SYRACUSE, NY — Syracuse University Athletics on Wednesday announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Hidden Level, a Syracuse-based company that provides an air traffic surveillance service.
The agreement will “benefit multiple areas of the Orange athletics programs and the JMA Wireless Dome fan experience,” Syracuse Athletics said in its Wednesday announcement.
Hidden Level is now the “Official Airspace Safety Partner” of Syracuse Athletics and is a presenting sponsor of the Kuhn Gameday Lounge along with the Hidden Level Student Section at football and basketball games.
Through the agreement, which includes all 20 Syracuse teams, the company committed to supporting Syracuse student-athletes through the LEARFIELD NIL Fund, Syracuse Athletics said.
NIL is short for Name, Image, and Likeness. “On June 30, 2021, the Division 1 Board of Directors approved an interim Policy on Names, Likenesses and Likenesses (NIL). This new policy allows all NCAA D1, D2, and D3 athletic students to be compensated for their NIL beginning July 1, 2021, whether or not their state has a NIL law,” according to NCSA’s website college recruiting. which bills itself as “the largest recruiting platform for college athletes.”
“Syracuse Athletics is proud to partner with such an innovative local company,” John Wildhack, director of athletics at Syracuse University, said in the university’s announcement. “Early on in our discussions, we recognized the potential that this partnership could take on many facets. We are grateful for Hidden Level’s commitment to our facilities and student-athletes through NIL. We are delighted to partner with such a dynamic company.”
As described in the press release, Hidden Level delivers “the only industry solution that provides safe, accurate, low-altitude airspace surveillance at scale through custom sensor technology to provide Safety Through Sensing.”
