Syracuse man beat woman and pointed gun at her

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse resident Keelan McLaurin, 19, slapped a victim in the face and then pointed a black pistol at her and threatened to shoot her.

At that time, on Thursday, January 19, at approximately 5:52 p.m., Syracuse police officers went to 243 Grumbach Avenue on a suspect with a gun complaint.

Additional officers then met with a female victim, who disclosed that she “had been punched in the face and assaulted by Keelan McLaurin,” the Syracuse Police Department said.

The police surrounded and searched the residential building Grumbach 243 and carried out a search warrant after it was issued.

During the search, the police found:

  • A loaded Glock 27 caliber .40 pistol
  • Several boxes of .40, .45, 9mm and 10mm ammo
  • 9 pistol magazines, including extended magazines and a drum magazine
  • 288.9 grams of cocaine
  • 48.36 grams of fentanyl
  • 1224.7 grams of marijuana
  • $9,725 cash

McLaurin is helped at the Onondaga County Justice Center.

McLaurin is charged with:

  • Criminal possession of a weapon (multiple charges)
  • Menacing in the second degree
  • Criminal respiratory disability
  • Second degree attack
  • Second degree harassment

McLaurin has been arrested twice in the last two weeks for possession of a loaded pistol and could therefore face further criminal charges, according to the SPD.
