Summary: Panthers Golf wins third place in a row | Sports

The Hoosick Falls Golf Team continued their season with a win over Hoosic Valley on Tuesday at Battenkill Country Club (par 35).

The Panthers played well, defeating Hoosic Valley 5-0. Hoosick Falls freshman Aiden Fleming was the lowest score of the game with a 1-under round of 34 after carding consecutive birdies on the third and fourth holes.

Ben Jensen 53 led Hoosic Valley. Other points from Hoosick Falls were Miles Smith 40, Allison Hathaway 44, Brady Hathaway 48, Dylan Callahan 49, and Ethan Yonconish 52.

The win improves the Panther’s record to 3-0 to kick off the 2021 season. They will host Mechanicville on Thursday and then travel to Saratoga Catholic on Friday to end the week.

Sage hosts basketball clinic

ALBANY, NY – The Russell Sage College men’s basketball team will again host the Boys’ Basketball Columbus Day Clinics on October 11th. The training takes place at the Kahl Gym in Albany, New York.

Russell Sage Gators’ Columbus Day Skills Clinic is designed to help players develop the skills they need to succeed in today’s basketball competition. This course is for boys aged 10-17 and includes offensive and defensive skills training, 3-on-3 competitive play, shooting competitions and one-to-one tuition to help campers prepare for the coming season. The fee per RV is $ 65.

The “Camp Bank” offers campers the opportunity to buy lunch, drinks or snacks throughout the day without having to bring annoying money with them. Campers must bring a packed lunch if they do not want to buy lunch.

Meet Coach Barnes

Brian Barnes is in his 13th year as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Russell Sage College. He was hired in 2008 to build the basketball program from the ground up. Sage is entering his 12th season of NCAA Division III men’s basketball after winning the 2015 Skyline Conference Championship and taking a seat in the 2015 NCAA tournament. Barnes was named Skyline, ECAC Metro and NABC Regional Coach of the Year and led the Gators to the most successful season in program history in 2015. His 2017 team won the Skyline Northern Normal Season Championship. The Gators fought their way to the Empire 8 tournaments in 2020 and 2021 after the season and reached the league’s semi-finals in 2021.

Barnes is no stranger to the Capital District having run sold-out basketball camps and clinics in Sage for the past decade. The RSC Gator Columbus Day Skills Clinic is a great experience and an educational, fun basketball day that will make campers in the area want more!

He was a four year old postman and senior tri-captain of the University at Albany Great Danes. A UAlbany graduate in 2003, Barnes served two seasons as Director of Basketball Operations before serving as a top assistant at RPI for three years from 2005 to 2008.

Patriot Day Clinic set for September 11th

BENNINGTON – Castleton Assistant Wrestling Coach Steven Forrest will host the Patriot Day Clinic on September 11th at the KOV MMA Gym & Fitness on September 11th.

The clinic starts at 11 a.m. with challenge matches after 2 p.m. All wrestlers, mixed martial artists and those who practice Jiu Jitsu are cordially invited to take part.

It costs $ 60 to participate. Registration for the clinic begins at 10 a.m. It costs $ 60 to participate.

Forrest was a member of the US national team from 2010-2011 and was ranked in the top 8 national seniors on four separate occasions.
