Sally Ramirez sings Christmas carols at Jazz Central in Syracuse

Syracuse NY – For the second time, CNY Jazz presents a family vacation special from singer and actress Sally Ramirez, “Songs from The Heart / Canciones del Corazón”. The family-friendly show will feature Sally and her companion Doug Robinson performing traditional Christmas carols from around the world. The live production is planned for December 8th at 7 p.m. in the Jazz Central Theater and will be broadcast simultaneously for virtual home viewing. Additional 7pm shows will be available to stream from December 15-19.

Ramirez is a singer, actress, teacher and singing teacher whose music spans the spectrum from jazz to renaissance to folk. A seasoned performer at the national level, she has appeared in musical theater, operetta and jazz events across the country. As a musician and actress, Sally is now actively performing in New York State and has appeared on television in The Young and the Restless and American Family. In recent years she has appeared in Syracuse in the Jazz at the Cavalier series.

“Sally can literally do anything about singing in multiple styles and languages,” said Larry Luttinger, her CNY jazz host. “She is equally well versed in jazz, bossa nova and other Latin and world music styles and fits in seamlessly with Doug’s virtuoso accompaniment on the classical guitar. We’re so happy to be able to bring her here for a live show as she had to perform virtually last year. “

Attendees are encouraged to bring traditional old school board games or UN decks to this show or other December shows at Jazz Central. They will be donated to the Joe Family Foundation for Disability Advocacy for distribution at the Home for the Holidays distribution event organized by 1199 SEIU and the Greater New York Hospital Association on December 21st. The games must be complete, either new or used. For more information about this event, contact Latoya at 315-640-0015 or Nadia at [email protected].

Ticket holders must provide proof of vaccination or negative test within 72 hours of the performance and remain masked in the theater unless they are eating or drinking. Children under the age of 12 will be asked to provide proof of vaccination, but this is not required if accompanied by fully vaccinated adults.
