Robert Kraft Lends Patriots Plane to Virginia Football Team for Player Funeral Travel – Boston Herald

Over the weekend, Patriots owner Robert Kraft loaned the team plane to the University of Virginia football program so the players could travel together to funerals for their late teammates D’Sean Perry, Devin Chandler and Lavel Davis Jr.

Perry, Chandler and Davis Jr. were killed in a campus shooting earlier this month after returning from a school trip to Washington DC. Kraft loaned the plane to the program for free, according to a team spokesman.

Virginia coaches and players will attend their final service Wednesday in North Charleston, South Carolina to celebrate Davis Jr.’s life. The team attended Perry’s funeral in Miami on Saturday and Chandler’s service in Virginia Beach on Sunday. Two other people were injured in the shooting, the 599th mass shooting in the United States this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

The Patriots didn’t need their plane over the weekend after playing in Minnesota Thursday night.
