One dead, six injured in shooting in Albany

When the officers arrived at the scene, they found Alexander Bolton, 29, from New Bedford, Massachusetts. According to police, Bolton was shot in the upper body. Bolton was taken to Albany Medical Center, where he later died.

Shortly thereafter, Albany Medical Center notified police that six men had entered the emergency room, all with gunshot wounds. The men are between 25 and 42 years old.

Police found that the six men were also shot on North Lake Avenue. All six are supposed to survive.

Nearby neighbors say they are concerned about the violence. The shots woke people who live in the neighborhood.

There is no word about arrests. If you have any information, you will be asked to call the Albany Police Department.

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan issued the following statement:

“I have been in constant communication with Chief Hawkins late at night and early in the morning. Based on the preliminary investigation, I have the greatest confidence that the Albany Police will identify and arrest those responsible for this audacious act of senseless gun violence.
