Marcus Adams plans an official visit to Syracuse Basketball

Syracuse basketball recruiting target Marcus Adams has scheduled an official visit for the weekend of February 18, he tells AllSyracuse.com. The news was first reported by 247Sports. February 18th is Duke Game Day at the Dome. When he arrives on campus, he knows exactly what to look for to determine if Syracuse is the right choice.

“How the coaches are personally,” Adams said. “The environment, the team, how they train and how they play. That’s all the basics you need.”

Orange’s offer came last month. Since then, Adams has been in constant contact with Orange employees.

“It was really coach Boeheim,” Adams said. “I spoke to one of the assistants and coach Böheim three times. It’s really just like ‘Hey, how are you’ and me looking at stuff. How I can be used in the program and stuff like that. All the stuff a trainer would normally talk to you about. I spoke to the assistant about arranging an officer to go there. It should be done by the end of the month.”

The 6-8 prospect has the option of being in the 2023 or 2024 recruitment class. What is Syracuse recruiting him for?

“I think both,” Adams said. “I don’t know what I’m going to do yet, but they’re looking at me for both.”

At this point in his recruitment, Syracuse has Adams’ attention.

“Great interest,” Adams said. “They will be in my top 5 or top 7 when I announce this, but definitely very keen interest. They have shown great interest in me, which I like. Definitely great interest.”

UCLA, USC, Oregon, Texas and Ole Miss are among the other schools strongly appealing to Adams at the moment. He says the school that needs him the most and gives him the best chance of getting into the NBA will be more important than location.
