Man reported shot while playing basketball in Syracuse’s Salt Springs neighborhood, dispatchers say

Syracuse, NY — A man was reported shot early Friday morning while playing basketball in the city’s Salt Springs neighborhood, dispatchers said.

The man walked into Crouse Hospital with a wound to his lower body at about 12:17 am, according to Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches.

The man said he was playing basketball in the Mountainview Avenue area before he was shot, dispatchers said.

He was reported to be conscious and breathing when he arrived at the hospital, dispatchers said.

Police went to the area around Mountainview Avenue looking for evidence of the shooting, dispatchers said.
