Dyaisha Fair receives ACC Player of the Week honors

Syracuse guard Dyaisha Fair was named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week. Fair scored an impressive 27.5 points per game (14-8, 5-6 ACC) in a 1-1 home week for Orange.

Fair scored a season-high 36 points in a 90-72 win over Virginia Thursday night at the JMA Wireless Dome. She was 11-to-16 from the field and an impressive 8-to-11 from three-point range. Her eight three-pointers against UVA set a program record for three-pointers in a game. She followed up on Thursday’s performance with 19 points on Sunday against Louisville. Fair was 50 percent out of the field (7-on-11) and almost perfect behind the arc when he was 5-on-7 in the loss.

The senior guard was averaging 60 percent from the field and 72.7 percent from three-point range, while hitting 4.5 rebounds and handing out 4.5 assists per game last week. She added 2.0 steals per game and was 75 percent away from the charity streak.

Earlier Monday, Fair was named a top 10 Nancy Lieberman Award finalist and is one of two ACC Guards on the list (Olivia Miles, Notre Dame). .

This is the Orange’s first ACC Player of the Week nomination this season and the first of Fair’s career at Syracuse.
