Damar Hamlin shows signs of recovery after cardiac arrest

The Buffalo Bills share a promising update Damar Hamelins health.

Two days after the NFL star was hospitalized after suffering a cardiac arrest during a Jan. 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, his team released a state of safety statement.

“Damar remains in critical condition in the ICU with signs of improvement noted yesterday and overnight,” the Buffalo Bills tweeted Jan. 4. “He is expected to remain in intensive care while his health care team continues to monitor and treat him.”

The social media post comes a day after the athlete’s uncle Dorrian Glenn said the Hamlin, who is currently hospitalized at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, had been put on a ventilator. While Glenn initially told CNN on January 3 that Hamlin had been resuscitated twice, Jordan Rooneya marketing rep and friend, who says he is the family spokesman, told NBC News on Jan. 4 that Hamlin’s uncle got it wrong and the 24-year-old was resuscitated once – while on the field at Paycor Stadium.
