Damar Hamlin on her way home after being discharged from Buffalo Hospital – NBC10 Philadelphia

Damar Hamlin is on his way home.

The Buffalo Bills’ safety was discharged from Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, the team announced Wednesday.

“We have conducted a series of tests and assessments and, in consultation with the team doctors, are confident that Damar can be safely released to continue his rehabilitation at home and with the Bills,” said Dr. Jamie Nadler, head of the nursing team, said Hamelin.

Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest on the field during the Bills’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 2. He spent the next week at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he made “remarkable recovery” from his critical condition.

He was released from UC Medical Center a week after collapsing on the field and was admitted to Buffalo General on Monday. The 24-year-old underwent a “comprehensive medical assessment” on Tuesday, among other tests.

Hamlin’s parents and younger brother came to see him at the hospital on Tuesday. His 7-year-old brother Damir wasn’t allowed to see him in the Cincinnati intensive care unit due to rules trying to prevent the spread of flu and RSV, Bills general manager Brandon Beane said.

The NFL community has rallied around Hamlin over the past nine days, and now he can continue to make strides at home alongside his family and teammates.
